Birthday Party Excitement!

This will be our 1st attempt at a kid's birthday party, I can only hope and pray that I can pull it off so that it will be a happy memory for Natalie. As a party rookie, I have made a few rookie mistakes already.

*First, do not hand your 5 yr. old a party catalog and tell her that she can pick out any theme she wants. Invariably, she will change her mind a dozen times before the big day arrives. Once ordered, the theme will not be changed.

*Second, have a complete guest list BEFORE you let the child pass out her invitations. This will insure that you will have at least an idea of who might be coming. It also prevents handing out more than one invite to the same child, while missing others.

*Third, Always remember......asking for an RSVP does not mean that you will actually GET an RSVP! Make sure that anything bought for the party can be used later, if the food/drink exceeds the number of guests. What is left over, you will be eating later - make sure it something you won't hate.

Well, Party Day came and it was wonderful! Natalie had five of her friends come to her party and it was perfect! They all dressed up like princesses, then played in the kid's gym. Everyone loved the cake and pizza. Before anyone knew, it was time to leave. I am sure that Natalie will long remember her very first kids' Birthday party ~
I know I will.
